This is one of the reasons online cards can never match real cards. This has happened to me on every site I've ever used, and it's annoying. I get nervous when I get a big lead early because I almost expect terrible hands the rest of the game.
For example, I play Cutthroat a lot. Often times, I'll get 8, 9, 10 or even 11 or 12 early in the game. This is usually followed by 1s and 2s for two or three more hands, and by then the game is over. Now, the law of averages suggests that if I get a high bid, I probably will get one hand that is below average. But to get two or three hands in a row where you are way below average and are set if you bid anything higher than three and probably bagged out if you bid one, well, yeah. Really frustrating. I think it's just part of programming online card games, unfortunately.
