I was just playing a real money game... Game rules 30min or 8 round, nil 50, no BN.... I start off game getting set first hand with a nil bid, puts me at -48... Long story short, by the last 3 minutes of game I am in lead by 30+ points, while in hand, 30 min time limit runs out... I am still in lead by 30+ points, but then the 6th round is being played... I set on a 4 bid during 6th round, and then game is over. Why is an extra hand played once time runs out while playing a hand, and then game ends at the 7th round and not the 8th? I'm totally lost on this one. Though it was only a $1 fee, $3.60 winning, I didn't lose much, but I shouldnt have lost the game if game rules were played out correctly. Is this how it is meant to be or error within system?

J.Banks:

You'll notice toward the end of 30 minute games, the clock begins to go down by two seconds for each one second instead of 1:1 - that's why this happens. The real 30 minutes ends sometime after all 0's are on the clock.

Dear J.Banks,

Here are the Spades software rules:

5 minutes = 5 rounds
10-15 minutes = 6 rounds
30 minutes = 8 rounds

If there is a tie after the 5th round, we go to 'overtime' :) for as many rounds until there's winner.

If you have reached the 7th round, that can only mean that you were tied up on the 5th and 6th rounds.

You can always create a table and set it up exactly the way you wish.

Thanks!

This still doesn't explain the game I just played and lost $10.....
30 min, 8 round or 300 point game
Round 6 about to enter round 7, highest score 205 (me) and then 183 (East seat) with 3mins 40 secs on game
Hand ends before timer runs out, only going into 7th round, no one near 300.... GAME ENDS!
How is that? I am not understanding the calcualtions in winning a game. How do you play an 8 round, 30 min, or 300 pt game and game ends before timer runs out, before 8th round, and no one near 300 pts?

Dear J.Banks,

At which table did you encounter this scenario?

If you have more information such as the date and time of the event, it would be very useful.

Thank you very much.

Aw man, I didnt even pay attention to that. It's cool, I'm not fussing, just trying to get a real good education on the system and how it is played. If I run into the issue again, I will take note of the info needed and then provide it. Thanks for the response and the intrest in the issues I may run into.

Dear J. Banks,

That's quite alright. If you ever encounter this scenario or others similar to it, please remember to log this information.

In the meantime, I will do all within my powers to figure out why the software acted the way you described.

Thank you!

Dear J. Banks,

I managed to figure out the problem once I spoke to our tech. staff.
The game timer is not accurate. This means that there may be discrepancies between what you see
on your screen and the actual game time. Our tech. team is currently doing all they can to make sure that the two correspond.

Thank you so much for understanding and letting us know about this event. I have refunded your account for $10.

WOW! Though I wasn't looking for a refund, thanks. Sorry for such an late thanks, haven't been on the site in a few. When refunds are issued, is it added to the amount of money to be used for playing games, or to the card used to deposit funds into the game? Reason I ask, I haven't ever noticed an extra $10 in my funds to be used in a game or issued to the credit card. Just curious as to where it is loaded, and I am not stating this as a problem that I didnt see the funds, as I wasn't looking for a refund in the 1st place, just the issue to be looked at. Thanks again.
